Holiday Hair - Featuring Bangs
Hello, Hello, Hello, and Happy Thanksgiving Eve Followers!
For those of you who know me in real life, you know that I have been raving about getting bangs and some sort of fall color. I saw these two looks on Pinterest a few months ago. Thanks to my fantastic hairdresser (Monique) and her magic hands....I can finally say that it's done and I am in love with it. I haven't always been a huge fan of color but I have always been a fan of units and sew ins. Y'all thought I was going to do this to my own hair? Not a chance. That's why bundles and units were invented. But why this color? And why now? Let's get into that.
A few months ago, I was on Pinterest searching for the perfect fall color. I work in a professional setting so I knew that it had to be fairly neutral but I still wanted it to stand out. I also knew that I wanted more of a medium-long look and possibly bangs. I have teetered with the idea of bangs for years. When done properly, they look amazing but they can also make your forehead greasy and make you break out. More importantly, bangs on a sew in or a unit often look too wiggy. I like to walk around and for people to think that my sew in is my hair....I want it to look like it's coming from my scalp otherwise I could've gone and gotten a $20 wig from the beauty supply.
I've been talking about this look and y'all have nothing to reference so here are the two inspirations for my new do:
It's simply stunning. It's not too dark, not too light but just different enough to turn heads. And it's a style I have never had from the color to the bangs....it's all new. It's exactly what I was looking for. For this style, Monique utilized two bundles of her Minye collection hair plus a closure. She also colored it herself. This hair was perfect for me because I don't like shiny hair - again it would be too wiggy it. This hair is thick and colors beautifully. You'll see below that it doesn't have that tingy look some hair gets when it gets lightened. These bundles are as soft as butter, super natural looking, and do not have that straight from the jungle smell that some bundles tend to have. I have had this hair in for almost a week now and I must saw so far so good. I flexi rodded them on Sunday for body because I hate flat hair and the curls are still intact and I haven't had to do them over yet. And I haven't done anything special to them - just put my bonnet on and sleep. If you're interested in checking her line out, here's the link to her page and she has some great deals on bundles right now. PICTURE OF ME AND THE NEW DO BELOW:
If you've made it this far, I appreciate you because I know I have been rambling but you finally see what I was talking about. Pictures don't do this color justice. It is gorgeous and has so much depth. I am obsessed. It was exactly what I was expecting but exactly what I wanted. Shout out to Monique to knowing what I want even when I don't. I am officially ready for Thanksgiving.
Until next time,
Danielle
